Following the completion of his degree, Aaron worked as an examiner in traditional crime scene laboratories where he conducted blood pattern analysis, body fluid searching, DNA swabbing and fibre examination. He then went on to work as a Forensic Specialist in British American Tobacco’s Anti Illicit Trade laboratory, applying forensic ballistic techniques in the tracking of counterfeit tobacco products across the globe.
Subsequently, Aaron spent several years as a Scientific Advisor to the London Fire Brigade. In this role, he conducted laboratory and fire scene investigations across various incidents, ranging from small house fires to large warehouse blazes. Aaron advised the Fire Brigade in operational hazardous materials incidents both at the scene and remotely. He has delivered training courses to the London Fire Brigade on subjects ranging from fire investigation to the dangers of hazardous materials.
Following this, he became a forensic expert, investigating the cause and circumstances of fire and explosions involving domestic residences, retail, agricultural and industrial premises.
Aaron joined Hawkins in 2024 as a fire and explosion investigator and continues to investigate a broad range of incidents in the UK.Â
