Jacek (pron. Yatsek) gained his master’s degree in Materials Engineering from AGH University of Krakow, Poland in 2004. During this time he obtained European certificate in TIG and MAG welding of low carbon steels. Following graduation, he took part in a 12-month internship at JFE Steel in Japan, where he worked on the development of high strength micro-alloyed steels for the automotive industry.
Upon returning to Poland, he worked as a Materials Engineer for several international corporations that operated within aerospace (Pratt & Whitney), automotive (American Axle & Manufacturing) and white goods (Whirlpool) industries. During this time Jacek used his knowledge of materials and special processes mainly to support the design of new products, develop manufacturing processes, in particular; heat treatment, welding and NDT, coordinate EU-funded research projects and oversee performance of the supply chain. In 2016 he moved to Yeovil, Somerset where he worked at Honeywell Aerospace, as a Materials Engineering Manager.
Between 2020-2025 Jacek worked as Forensic Materials Engineer investigating causation of over 150 incidents, involving materials and mechanical failures, including escapes of water and oil, corrosion and personal injury cases.
In February 2025, Jacek joined Hawkins and continues to forensically investigate causation of various incidents.
