We would like to commend Nick Ashby, Paul Willis and Nick Wright on 10 years of investigations with Hawkins, as well as thank Iain Woodward for 20 years, during which he was instrumental in establishing our Leeds Office.
Nick Ashby is a Senior Associate who has been based in our Cambridge office since joining Hawkins in 2013. He is a Chartered mechanical engineer, and dedicated member of Hawkins’ Power & Energy team, regularly investigating fires, machinery damage, power surges, electrocutions, generator failures, and incidents involving steam turbines.
Paul Willis is a Principal Associate based in our Bristol office. He is a member of both the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Institution of Fire Engineers. Paul began his career with Hawkins investigating fires and explosions, before expanding his skills to investigate international shipping incidents, including bulk cargo and container ship fires.
Dr Nick Wright is a Principal Associate in our London Office. He is a Chartered Engineer and materials scientist, who is also part of our Power & Energy team. He often investigates escapes of water, glass failures, and incidents involving generators and turbines.
Nick says, “During my time here, I have been in vast, isolated wind farms, in the bowels of hydroelectric power turbines, in the hull of a luxury yacht in the Mediterranean, farms in Ireland, power stations in the Far East, numerous London skyscrapers and a few distilleries. All great challenges, but the best thing by far has been meeting so many very interesting people along the way.”
Dr Iain Woodward is a Principal Associate based in our Leeds Office. He began his career with Hawkins in Manchester in 2003 and helped open our Leeds office two years latermanaging it from 2005 to 2021. Iain has investigated over 250 fires and explosions and has also investigated cases of polymeric failure with his strong background and PhD in Chemistry.
We would like to thank Nick Ashby, Paul Willis, Nick Wright and Iain Woodward for the wealth of knowledge and experience they bring to the team, and for the numerous investigations they have completed over the years.
