Four members of Hawkins’ Marine Incidents Team, and our Business Development Manager, will be attending the upcoming Marine Insurance London Conference on 25th March: Dr Nick Carey (Reigate Office), Mr Luke Collins (Bristol), Mr Ed Hammersley (Reigate), Dr Sophie Parsons (London), and Mr Graeme Drysdale (Glasgow). Hawkins is also a proud sponsor of the event.

The conference will be held at 155 Bishopsgate, a large exhibition venue on Liverpool Street in London. The event will include a breakfast session on the future of the P&I market; presentations on crew welfare, and on the EverGiven’s incident in the Suez Canal; and panel discussions on sustainability, digital underwriting, cargo insurance, ship detention, and many more worthy subjects. One panel seeks to discover whether London is still, in fact, the ‘centre of the marine world.’

Dr Sophie Parsons said, “After a difficult couple of years, we are delighted to attend this gathering in person so that we can catch up with our friends and colleagues in this sector, and immerse ourselves in the environment that we so very much enjoy, and in doing so, align ourselves with everyone’s new and unique hybrid working methods.”

With over 50 qualified speakers, including Dr Parsons, the conference should certainly be a great opportunity for anyone in the Marine or Insurance fields to meet, learn and influence the direction of the industry henceforth. We hope that if you are able to attend, you will visit Hawkins’ stand and speak to either Nick, Luke, Ed, Sophie, or Graeme about any marine-related queries you may have.
