Hawkins Welcomes Acoustical Consultant Henry Stead

Built Environment

Hawkins would like to extend a very warm welcome to acoustical consultant Henry Stead, who has recently joined our London Office.

Henry graduated from the University of Southampton with an Upper second-class Masters of Engineering degree (MEng) degree in Acoustical Engineering. He grew up in France and speaks fluent English and French.

During his degree, he undertook a 2-month placement at Woods in Glasgow as a noise and vibration intern, which involved surveying road traffic noise as well as modelling windfarm noise propagation.

Henry then joined the acoustical consultancy Cole Jarman as a Graduate Consultant and was accepted into the Institute of Acoustics as an Associate Member. He worked on varied projects from plant noise emissions for planning, to the acoustic design of housing developments, schools, prisons, hospitals, distribution centres and an airport terminal. His work involved performing attended and unattended noise surveys, sound insulation testing, desktop design on RIBA stages 3-4, as well as public address and voice alarm (PAVA) design using modelling software.

In 2022, Henry joined GL Hearn in London as an Acoustical Consultant, working predominantly on building and architectural acoustics design of schools and offices.

We are delighted to have Henry on board.
