Hawkins welcomes chartered materials engineer Natasha Moore to our Bristol Office.
Natasha graduated with a 1st Class Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol where she studied a range of subjects including design and manufacture, materials engineering, thermofluids, and systems and control. During her studies and an internship, funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), she completed extensive research on:
- The use of finite element analysis to investigate the interaction of cracks in auxetic materials
- Numerical solvers for partial differential equations using radial basis functions
- Using computational fluid dynamics to model the flow through a structure in the kidney
Following her degree, Natasha joined L3 Harris as a graduate engineer in their marine department, where she worked on providing software systems for Naval ships. As part of the graduate scheme, Natasha worked in several departments including software engineering, control and instrumentation, systems engineering, and IT support. She mainly worked on projects related to the Type 26 Frigate.
Natasha is now an Associate based in our Bristol Office and will be a great addition to both the mechanical and materials engineering teams at Hawkins.
