Hawkins would like to welcome Principal Acoustics Consultant and Chartered Engineer, Raymond Marr, to our growing acoustics team.

Ray graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Coventry University in 1995 and holds the Institute of Acoustics Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control from the University of Derby. Furthering his academic studies, Ray obtained his MSc in Applied Acoustics and became a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

Ray was responsible for design aspects of projects utilising the typhoon gas turbine including, structure, thermodynamics, and acoustics. His experience which spans almost 20 years extends to acoustic calculations, measurements, and report writing to meet the varied requirements of the customer.

In 2003, Ray joined the Royal Air Force as an Engineer Officer and emigrated to New Zealand and held Chartered Engineer status with Engineering New Zealand and was a member of the Acoustical Society of New Zealand. He began working in the HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) environment where he was responsible for providing acoustic solutions to customers in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

We are delighted to welcome Ray to the Birmingham office and to expand on the existing capabilities within the acoustics team.
