Our Acoustics team goes from strength to strength with the addition of Senior Acoustics Consultant, Christina Higgins, who has joined our London office.

Christina is a researcher and engineer with over a decade of experience in building acoustics and environmental noise and vibration. Initially trained as a classical pianist, she intended to pursue a career in sound engineering however, after completing her MSc in acoustics in 2013, she began working as a consultant in the construction industry, where she spent several years at Ramboll and other engineering consultancies, both large and small.

Christina has been the discipline lead on dozens of projects across the UK and internationally, managing acoustics consultancy work from initial baseline surveys and modelling through to the RIBA design stages and construction technical support. Christina’s experience includes residential and commercial developments, along with healthcare, educational, recreational, cultural, and transport facilities. Some notable projects include the new London Peninsula Hotel, the Southbank Centre’s Repair and Maintenance, and the Science Museum’s Wonderlab.

Christina’s passion for research has led her to win several awards, including the Robert Bradford Newman Medal for merit in architectural acoustics. Currently, she is pursuing her PhD at the University of Surrey’s Global Centre for Clean Air Research. Her project focuses on the design of distributed multi-sensor systems for measuring building occupancy and indoor air quality.

Christina is experienced in building acoustics, and environmental noise and vibration assessment. She can also lend her skills to assessing ambient and indoor air pollution.

We are delighted to have Christina join our London team. Her experience, passion, and expertise make her a valuable addition to the team.
