In a change to delivering training to our clients, Fire Expert, Nick Carey, and Electrical Engineer, David Edwards, recently delivered electrical training to the Hawkins team. The training is part of a companywide programme delivering refresher training to our fire investigators.
The key focus areas included safety aspects and new technological advances that have evolved in recent years and can impact our approach to a fire investigation, with the training including both theoretical and practical elements throughout the day.

A programme of continuous development and refresher training is critical for our investigators to maintain their skills and knowledge, allowing them to remain experts in their field. Nick and David’s training was attended by several Hawkins experts including Anna Knight, Sam Morley, Lisa Beck, Ed Hammersley, Ian Major, Hannah Fletcher and James Townsend from our Reigate office, allowing them to stay up to date on the latest advances and to stay safe in what are often hazardous surroundings.
Hawkins can also provide electrical training courses for external fire investigators. Our training is CPD accredited with the UK Association of Fire Investigators (UK-AFI) and the format is designed for suitably trained fire investigators working in either the public or private sectors.
