Simon Batt Completes Global Wind Organisation Working at Heights Certification

Investigating wind turbine failures can be extremely hazardous, with the nacelle being up to 120m from the ground. As wind farms are also necessarily exposed to high winds, and also poor weather conditions, working at these heights is made all the more dangerous.

Hawkins takes the safety of its staff seriously and we are pleased to announce that Simon Batt, one of our Power & Energy experts, has recently undertaken Global Wind Organisation approved working at height training.

This course provides the necessary training to allow Simon to perform inspections inside the nacelle of a wind turbine, including the correct usage of basic personal protective equipment (PPE). It also prepares participants in basic rescue techniques from height in a remote wind turbine environment.

Hawkins looks forward to offering this training to all our Power & Energy team.
