Hawkins would like to welcome, Mechatronic Engineer, Michael Chandler to the business.
Michael graduated from Lancaster University, and in 2006, was named the Most Enterprising Student in Herefordshire and Worcestershire for his work in vehicle homologation (official approval) during a Shell Step placement at automotive consultancy ACS International.
Starting his career on RWE’s graduate training scheme, Michael completed placements at Great Yarmouth Power Station and the Offshore Wind Operations & Maintenance Hub in North Wales. He subsequently held posts in electrical engineering with their consultancy in Swindon, at Aberthaw Power Station and Little Barford Power Station, in addition to a secondment at Pembroke Power Station during its construction and commissioning.
Joining our Birmingham office, Michael brings extensive experience in the operation and maintenance of high-voltage electrical equipment including generators, motors, transformers, cables and uninterruptable power systems. He was the Lead Technical Officer for lightning protection and earthing for RWE’s fleet of UK-based CCGT, CHP and biomass power stations, and has presented at the EuroDoble and Life of a Transformer seminars on quantitative approaches to spares risk management.
